Humility seems to be a knife edge walk between shame and fear to me sometimes. On the one hand, accepting praise makes me uncomfortable because I know the flawed truth. On the other hand, I am desperately afraid that accepting praise will reveal how starved for acknowledgement I feel.

I think if we have to wait till people are humble before we get the benefit of their other virtues, we might have to wait a long time for some….. Most of us struggle with humility, but fortunately God continues to use us in our imperfect state.. and continues by His Spirit to change our attitude so we become more humble… but for some us of us, it will probably take a lifetime!! Hey, ho!! 🙂 x
Fortunately, Jesus loves me just the way I am.. 🙂

I think humility is also one of the harder virtues to clearly define. We know what love is, what patience is, etc. But humility gets mislabeled as low self esteem or unwillingness to receive praise or a number of other things. It is a tricky one to strive after for sure.
